Everybody Dance Now

Today they announced the next round of what used to be C-List has-beens for this season of Dancing With The Stars...

For a show that used to have to beg borrow and steal for what barely passed as celebrites, it seems that DWTS have stepped it up again this year... I am just shocked what and amazing venue for re-inventing careers this show has become... And today they have the clout to get, well, Cloris Leachman?

Really? Are you so desperate to amuse people by embarrassing others that you would put an 82 year old dancer on the stage just to be funny? And the poor kid she's paired with... Making his DWTS Stars debut, Corky Ballas, son of defending DWTS champ Mark Ballas... Poor kid doesn't have a chance... Given Cloris' raunchy reputation all I can say to this kid is "Earmuffs"... I am really disappointed by this...

But there is also some interesting talent this season... They have Brook Burke (girl crush), Celebrity Hottie, erm, Chef Rocco DiSpirito, Toni Braxton, that kid from Hannah Montana, they have Susan Lucci for goodness sakes... I for one am looking forward to this season!

I remember when DWTS first premiered ... Well not really because I didn't watch ... Why would I? ... It sounded like the dumbest TV show ever ... Take that back, The LAMEST TV show ever ... They had that short list of actors that no-one recognized by name, but when you saw their picture you were like, "Yeah, that guy was on that one show, what was that show again?"

Today DWTS has one of the highly coveted Top Ten spots on my Tivo... An impressive feat in my household that has 3 of them currently in panic mode over Tuesday nights this fall, but that's another blog...

I just love Tom Bergeron on this show, I love the shiny costumes, I loved Jerry Springer, I loved Joey Fatone, they had my boy Jason Taylor on (well not my boy anymore, but more on that after pre-season is over)

N. is Here

Stephen King has once again partnered with MARVEL to re-tell one of his stories in graphic novel format, this time bringing a short story to life in what they are calling graphic videos.

It is drawn in typical comic book pen and ink, but is presented as a video with narration... Very interesting to this rabid King fan.

It is available through iTunes and the NisHere.com website.

The official description is below... Check it out and let me know what you think... I am especially interested in what the comic purists think of this format (You know who you are =)

The Official Blurb:
Master storyteller Stephen King presents a revolutionary new form of entertainment: his short story "N." brought to vibrant life through a series of 25 graphic video episodes. The original series tells the story of a psychiatrist who falls victim to the same deadly obsession as his patient—an obsession that just might save the world!

Drawn by award-wining comic book artist Alex Maleev, and colored by famed comic book colorist José Villarrubia, the episodes were adapted by Marc Guggenheim, co-creator of the ABC-TV series "Eli Stone" with creative oversight from Stephen King.

Kids say the Cutest Things!

So I was babysitting my adorable 4 year old Nephew recently... Cody is a real charmer and always says the funniest things... This one takes the cake!

*Some notes before I begin... my Sister, My Brother-in-Law and Myself all smoke... My Mom does NOT... Mom is only 56...

So I'm sitting out back having a smoke while Cody plays in his pool... My Mom comes out to join us and the conversations goes like this...

Cody: Are you going to have a smoke too Grandma?

Grandma: No, Grandma doesn't smoke

Cody: How Come?

Me: Because Grandma is smarter than me and your Mommy

Grandma: Cody, do you know why Grandma doesn't smoke?

Cody: Yes, Because you are Really, Really, Really Old!

I can't stop laughing long enough to finish my smoke!

HorrorFest 2007 Reviews

HorrorFest

So I've just started watching the 8 Films to Die For from HorrorFest 2007...
I couldn't decide what to watch first so I decided to do them in alphabetical order...

First up was Borderland

Borderland

I really liked this movie, and based on the description I didn't think I would at all...
It's based on true events and has all the gore of Saw and the sadisticness of Hostel, but better...

The basic plot is 3 friends heading off to college take a trip to a Mexican Border Town and get mixed up in a blood cult lookeing for human sacrifices... I know it sounds lame, but it's not... It's creepy and bloody and well acted... and our favorite Hobbit Sean Astin plays one of the bad guys...

Next up was The Deaths of Ian Stone

The Deaths of Ian Stone

This was a good, sometimes slow-paced, thriller... Had an interesting plot... Ian Stone Dies Everyday! He wakes up each day in a new life only to be pursued by unknown killers...

Stars Mike Vogel from Cloverfield and Jaime Murray from Hustle & Dexter... If you like a good suspense thriller... IF you like to try and figure out what's going to happen in movies...Then this is the movie for you!
